Amarone's spring version: Bardolino Chiaretto
El Mona on 22nd Feb 2021
We are in on the hills close to the shores of Lake Garda, west-south of the Valpolicella's Wine
region and Cantina Castelnuovo del Garda this year released an outstanding
Bardolino Chiaretto Rosé Superiore. The best cluster of Molinara, Corvina and
Rondinella are choose to produce a “Ripasso” Rose. You may ask yourself: a
“Ripasso Rosé”?
Those clusters are fermented with no skin contact then affination in cement vat
until mid-January. Now when the fermentation for the Amarone production is done
and the must is released, the winemaker flush trough those left-over Amarone
skin the wine to produce a Bardolino Chiaretto Rose Superiore, that we can consider, no doubt, a spring version of Amarone. The wine will
have a pink salmon color with an incredible fresh an minerality complexity.
